Here, in Maryland, they are yellow...but they used to be red and some of them look like a bad collage of the two colors together, from being in the elements.

Brown and Green.

Actually, there are several shades of green. They're painted in vertical stripes, so they blend in with the grass, and the brown is at the bottom, to look like dirt. Our neighborhood association thought the fire hydrants were an eyesore, so now they don't stand out so much. We had a lot of fun that one Saturday painting them like that.
