What to Do? I am going to be fired?

I was hired as a office mgr./bokkeeper to work M,W & F 9-2. I took the job b/c it was my kids school hours. About 6 months ago a "executive assistant" was hired. He has taken everything over, I am excluded from everything. when he was hired he tried to make me work 40 hours a week, which I did not want to do, so they let me continue with my schedule. Today I found resume's on his desk, so I know its coming. Should I just quit or wait to be fired? Can I be fired for not working 40 hours, when I was hired for 18? We are in NY an at will state so I know I can be fired for anything.I am so miserable here.
