Can teachers get fired for being racist?

My elective teacher fought in a war, and some of my friends think he's racist depending on the war he fought in. My friend Jimmy is Mexican and my teacher isn't nice to him. He's not nice to Jimmy for the smallest things. But my other friend Edwin does the worst things, like blurts out, I DON'T CARE when he's talking and he doesn't even care. Edwin is Mexican to but he is pale white. Jimmy wants to get our teacher fired, but can teachers get fired for being racist?

yeah if a student parent report them then get get a notice but depend on the kind of school you go to then the teacher get fired like I go to a school has a lot of diversity so if somebody reported a teacher they would probably get fired

why is he not nice to him- it has to be proven that the discrimination is causing negative interaction.
racism is preferably not going to exist at school as people should be treated with equal respect. they can be fired for being racism as it should be a safe place. racism covers harassment or bullying by one person to a another that is repeated and shows a power in-balance. if that is happening in the classroom i would document and report.

To some extent yes, and i guess it matter where you live..... like one of my teachers is pretty racist but he doesn't get fired because theres like only 300 kids in all the elementary, middle school and high school. so it is a possibility that they could.

All of your reasons sound kind of silly. You need something solid like he used a slang racial slur in class.
