Can I get my cat out in a fire?

When the fire alarm goes off and the cat is in the farthest corner under the bed, what do you do?

Previous answerers talked about leaving a door open, but that worries me because she's scared of the outdoors, and I've always heard you should close all doors and windows to starve the fire.

try to fix it so you can easily grab your cat. you know like moving the dresser or something
