Did he quit or was he laid off? If a person gives a two week notice to quit their job and the employer tells him from receiving the two week notice that you dont have to come back to work the next day after the notice is turned in. Did he fire the employee, lay him off or is that the same as giving a two week notice. He states there has been an ongoing fued between another co-worker. They say we will not get rid of your adversary. The employer gives him a seperation package with cash and states in a letter that his job was eliminated by the department. Also, the package state do not sue us or you will have to pay back the seperation money. When he files for unempoyment because he was not able continue his two weeks with pay before he could find another job. His employer refuse to pay unemployment benefits and tells the unemployment agency that he had no reason to quit and if so they were not aware of it (lieing). What steps can he take to get his unemployment he has already filed for an appeal. |
