Default Help...I have a 95 neon that acts like it has a bad starter. Replaced it,...

...still nothing, and it gets fire.? I have taken the new one off and jumped it on the ground and it engages and works fine. Place it back on motor and nothing. Have checked posts on starter they are tight, all cables and wires also. I have tried bypassing to jump start and it wont work. Please help me, I am a student and have to get to work and school.
Hey, thanks for the prompt help. Yes the relay is good, you can hear the "clicking" sound and it is getting fire. I have replaced the relay. the starter is kicking out but just not get the extra push to spin it. Dodge mechanics baffled also. But they, from the looks of it, are still in high school, so that is why I am coming here.
