...file unemployment please read.? I am/was a security guard for a local security company and worked there for four months straight. Ionly had a few problems, but besides that no problem. I had no problem with the manages or the supersvisor. I as of a few days ago was laid off from my position due to lack of work to go around. I was guarding a aprtment construction site at night and once it was complete the constructin company no longer needed us to guard it for them. So me and the other guard as of now technically still work for the company, but have no other sites right now to be placed at. I went in to get my last check before layoff today, and my manager said he didn't know when there would possibly be other sites for me to go to? I am 20 years old, so could i file for unemployment, and if so how much would it be and how long does it take to file. Please inform me thanks.

You could try to file unemployement, but the unemployment check will depend on the time and amount you had paid into the unemployment isurance (based on a formula). Anyway, you are better off finding another job. Because you may not qualify for it.
