I have been working as an admin to a lawyer for about 6 months. During that time I have gotten two raises. Although I am not attracted to other women, I definitely feel that she has a thing for me. I noticed something the first day I wore a skirt to the office. She seemed to spend a lot of time at my desk. About three weeks after I started wearing skirts, she gave me a raise even though I had only been there for two months. Recently, Cara came back from a long day in court and complained that her feet hurt. I offered her a foot massage and she accepted. Although her feet in pantyhose did not smell the best, I could tell she was happy. This has also become a regular thing since she gave me another raise last week. Cara recently approached me about earning some extra money by cleaning her home every week and serving at parties with clients and friends. I am seriously considering it, but wondering if my behavior is inappropriate.

If Cara were a married man would you find your actions more appropriate? Sucking up can get you somethings, but it won't get you respect. If you are looking to be highly respected and considered professional... slow down on the foot rubs, wear the skirts but make sure that they are professional attire. If you are just there to make money, it shouldn't matter what other people think. Offer to be her personal assistant, that can give you a title for what you do and some serious extra cash (without looking scandalous).

Sometimes we have to compromise our integrity to get what we want.

As long as you are not compromising your morals, do anything and everything you need to do to get ahead. There is only one "Number One" and that is yourself. Always look out for Number One.

You want to be politically correct, in other words, always respect the fact that a boss is a boss. However, things like a raise or promotion in such a short period are suspect. How many other employees received raises, promotions and the like after 6 months of employment. If you look into it you will see that you are being treated "special" if you will.
