Please help me with advice. I started working for my mom's boyfriend in November of 2006. Everything was great (the money, tuition paid, insurance) even after they broke up. My problem is that I've never felt right in this job. I'm in school for nursing and I never planned on making this my career. I've been left out of several company events (team building?) and I've never really been given set goals or even had my position clarified for me. I keep arguing with my boss (who is literally dumb) he has to be right all the time, he's loud and obnoxious I pretty much hate him. He tries to act like he's teaching me something but its never what I need. Help. Do I try to resolve my issues with him or just start looking for another job? Don't tell me to grow up. You don't even know me. This is an adult conversation and I really don't understand this jackass. K? I've actually only mentioned being excluded when other things come up. Then, I'm just ignored and they say I'm whining. Its all very immature. He doesn't know what he's doing, I think I'm going to quit soon.

you've been there now for 14 months and there is no direction, as long as you aren't in dire need for income or if you are and can find another job i'd just go ahead and quit.

You have a job with income, tuition paid and insurance!!! Do you know how LUCKY you are? Keep the job unless there is something illegal/immoral going on. Do your best at whatever task you are given, have a good attitude (force it if necessary), be punctual, and responsible. Look for another job as you do these things every minute you are being paid to be there. It is not a marriage. You do not need to resolve issues. He is the employer and you are the employee. What ever he says is right. I restate the earlier: as long as it is legal and moral and I will add, ethical.

well as long as you receive your pay check and the right amount, I don't think it matter what the hell they are saying. If that job is not going to be your career and you only need the money then keep going ignore whatever he say when he try to teach you just think that he is just wasting your time/his time and plus you're being paid to listen to his sh!t so who care. Why worry about this bs when you have school to attend to, no need to put more stress on yourself. Just ignore, when he teach you some crap just act like you're listening.
