I actually like my profession. But I did have an experince recently with management that made me sick to my stomach. Last week my daughter was struck crossing the road by a hit and run driver. I got a knock on the door and went to the accident scene she was being transported my EMS to the hospital and I had to go back and get my purse and car keys to follow her to the hospital. I musta been on auto pilot because I remembered to call in to work my next shift was in two hours (I'm a nurse) I was on my cell walking to the car and the nursing supervisor answered the call. I told her someone had to cover my shift my daughter was hurt and hit by a SUV, hit and run driver. She was on the way to the hospital via ambulance and the supervisor had the gaul to ask me if someone else could go to the hospital with her. I was shocked I told her I'm a single mom and MY KID was hit by a SUV I would be in the ER as a mom not nurse in the unit. Not that it really matters that I'm a single mother any mother or father for that matter shouldn't get that harrassment. My daughter's okay ,a broken vertebrae, road rash and bruises so she'll heal and I will be looking for another job soon.

I work at day care on second shift. One day literally half of the staff called in sick. Our director came in the room and said to me, "Well, it seems like nobody wants to work. You're all going to be on your own tonight with double the kids. There's going to be nobody to get supper or answer the door. But, I'm leaving now. So, good luck!" What a charming place it is to work. You really get that warm feeling that your bosses really care about you.

My former boss was definitely psychotic! She would bring her dog to work, but no one else could, she freaked out when I told her I had to leave at 5:20 to pick up my daughter (I was only scheduled until 4:00) When we were hiring she made every person we offered a job to take a drug test, no big deal right? Well the kicker is that she made them pay to take their own drug test and then said she would reimburse them if they passed. Well too many people ended up passing so she didn't even hire all of them!! Then one of the supervisors she hired FAILED the drug test and she said "just don't tell anyone". When the secretary's name came up for random drug testing she said "oh I trust you, who is next on the list" She would call meetings to yell at people because they weren't performing and then right before sending them back to work would say, Oh by the way I am not paying you for the time you were in this meeting because you weren't logged on, do you job better so we don't have to have these meetings and it have to happen again

I could go on and on. That woman had some serious problems!
