I found another job...but they dont let me work in my old job...why???

I found a full time job at a bank, and i planned to work at my other part time job as a sales associate. But they dont want me to work at my part-time job. and i dont really want to quit in my part-time job. What would happend if i dont tell my new job that i work for someone else. Can they fire me??? Can a job really tell you not to work for someone else???

The bank may have included `no outside work' into their policy for security reasons. They think they know what they're doing so I certainly wouldn't betray them; else pass them by as you may lose more than you think by this contemplated deception. You just don't fool around with banks -- it's a whole 'nother world. (It could simply be the matter of total accuracy needed with no diversions when working around their money and acct'ing books

Yes they can if you work PT for a company that might be considered a competitor of the bank. Even if the PT company is not a direct competitor of the bank, your bank might not want you to work PT there because it (working 2 jobs) could affect your work performance when you are working at the bank.
