with my first child i had to leave her and go back to work at 8 months, i had to put her in daycare though and it was so hard i looked at many different centers and felt comfortable in an "inhome" type center. it took me a while to get used to the idea but honestly i never did like the idea of leaving her for someone else to watch her all day and i only get the dinner and bath and bedtime at night. when she was about 1 1/2 i started working from home and eventually my husband got promoted and i didn't have to work anymore. for me staying home with my babies was way to important to me, if you can budget and move things around to where you can stay home do it especially if leaving your baby is so hard. ( i have a friend who lvoes working and doesn't bother her to leave her child and that is okay) but feel comforted in the least that your mom and your childs grandma is going to be watching her and the only other person that can love your baby as much as you and her dad is the grandma!!

I was watched by my grandmother because my mother and father wanted to provide me with a good life and education and I thank them everyday for that. I remember missing them in the early morning right before they had top leave, but also was on my best behavior when they came home because I was so happy to see them. After working in a daycare for several years we see this thing all the time. The parent will actually do more harm to the child by waiting around while the child resists them to go. They cry and get so worked up. Then the parent feels guilty, comes back in the room a moment later or peeks in the window, and the tourture begins all over again, sometimes pushing them into longer bouts of crying. It may be so hard for you now, but yes, it does get easier. You need your own time to do your own thing, and when you see them after work, they will cherish that time more with you.

How long it takes to adjust is up to you,It is hard to leave and go back to work but as long as you know shes safe and loved while you are gone that will help. Try not to call to much, lol but it will get better. Good Luck

For one thing, its your mom. One thing to keep your heart at ease is look at you. your mother raised you and now shes gonna help raise your beautiful child. When i went back to work, i was sad at first. It DOES get much better. Give it a week. Think about coming home and seeing her smiling face. Good luck.Hannah
